LEVEL SEVEN is not just another rooftop restaurant in the city. It’s a notch above. And, we say this with some conviction. This 2,000 sq ft resto-lounge, spread across two floors in Topsia, instantly made us reschedule our next gang meet on the rooftop of Wizard House, which not only offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the city’s skyline, but a prized view of the busy Maa flyover as well.

All over the top

The tall glass of Long Island Ice Tea acts as a great coolant, with outside temperatures almost at 33 degrees. The 45-seater open deck has comfortable couches and lends a much better view of the horizon. The Cosmopolitan, a fruity mocktail, arrived next, and we loved every sip of the citrus blast. “We focus on ambience, great food and war m service. We intend to dispel the myth that rooftops are only for winters. You can enjoy the evening summer breeze, monsoon and winter equally here, ” offers Zeeshan Basu, partner, Level Seven. We couldn’t agree more. As a cool breeze set in with the sun fading out, we began to enjoy the music more. Apart from in-house DJ Vishal, gigs by solo artistes and bands are frequently hosted here. The seventh-floor lounge is also a great choice for private parties.

We started our foodtasting session with the Mushroom Balls, served with a lettuce and olive salad, and garlic mayo sauce. The minced mushroom with cheese made for a creamy filling. The Lemon Garlic Butter Prawn, spiced up with Sriracha Mayonnaise and served with garlic bread, tantalised our taste buds with its burst of flavours. The Rosemary Flaming Chicken Tikka, served with green chutney and pickled onion, was torched before serving. The herbs lent a distinct twist to the soft pieces of chicken kebab.

From the main course, we sampled the Combo Red Thai Curry, served on a coconut shell. The aromatic Thai dish is ideal for lunch during summer.

For dessert, we had the Three Layers Chocolate. Served with strawberry ice-cream, it made for a joyous ending, just before the city was hit by fresh thundershowers.
