Lotus Organics+ features a range of products that are free of parabens, sulfates, artificial colour and are 100 % vegetarian

The latest entrant in offering organic cosmetic products is Lotus. With its Organics+, Lotus offers products that are made of 100% certified organic actives, including botanical extracts, cold-pressed oils, butter and steam-distilled essential oils.

The collection features two range, one is Divine Care that includes products like Nutritive Creme, Face Wash, Hydrating Lotion, Night Creme with Macadamia Nut Oil, Body Butter made from Shea butter, Body Lotion with Argan Oil, Hand Creme with Cranberry among others and another is Brightening Range which features brightening Creme, Night Creme, Exfoliator and Face Wash, all carrying white peony extract, which they suggest removes superficial dullness.

The parent company, Lotus Herbals, spent four years on this range and did in-depth research on the concept, ingredients as well as the market potential of organic skincare in India and feel that there is a huge potential in this category.

“There is a rising consciousness amongst consumers that in addition to nourishing our bodies with healthy and organic foods, our skin also deserves the same treatment as what goes on our skin eventually gets processed and absorbed into our body,” says, Mr Nitin Passi, Joint Managing Director and adds that these products do not contain any parabens, petrolatum, mineral oil, paraffin, sulfates and there is no use of artificial fragrance, colour or preservatives. He also assured that the products are also not tested on animals and are 100 % vegetarian.

Our take: Our take: We tried their brightening day creme, night creme and face wash. And, while we have no complaints from any of these, we can't realistically expect instant results. One product we really liked was their face wash. It is a mild and gentle gel-based cleanser. Although it doesn’t generate much foam, it works really well even for the oily skin.

Price Range: Rs 350 to Rs 900
