Jesús de Miguel Alameda, 30 years old and a forward for CD Tenerife, has passed away due to cardiac arrest in yesterday's LaLiga 2 game between CD Tenerife and FC Andorra. It occurred during the 7th minute of stoppage time when the scoreline was 2-2. Jesús Owono came out of his penalty box all the way to the midfield, chasing after a long ball intended for Jesús De Miguel. Both collided with each other in such a manner that left the Tenerife striker requiring immediate medical care.

Jesús Owono was quickly given a red card for his high-kicking tackle that he made on a player in a very rough manner when the ball was in play. He first started walking towards the exit point but then turned around to join the others who were running to attend to Jesús De Miguel.

The match was put on hold as the medical team attended to the player who was hurt. He was then taken to the hospital via ambulance. On Monday night, Tenerife reported that he was 'stable, given the seriousness of the condition.' However, the club announced early Tuesday that "Jesús de Miguel's medical condition has deteriorated neurologically."

FC Andorra and Real Madrid also offered condolences to his family and loved ones
Barcelona expressed its condolences, while LaLiga president Javier Tebas described the death as "an irreparable loss."

The club later confirmed his death in an emotional statement: "Broken with pain, with a lump in our throat and unable to believe that this is true, from CD Tenerife we announce the tragic passing of Jesús de Miguel Alameda this Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at 8:00 a.m."

The statement added: "There are no words of comfort; there is absolutely nothing that can ease this profound sense of sadness. We stand with his devastated family, with his loved ones, and with the entire Tenerife football community, who today mourn this cruel turn of events."
