Majuli is one of the largest river islands in the world, and is even listed in the Guiness Book of World Records. From boat tours, to water sports and bird watching, Majuli features it all, and is one of the most underrated tourist spots on the eastern coast.

Mawlynnong, Meghalaya
Mawlynnong is the most picturesque hamlet in the East Khasi Hills district, famed for its cleanliness. It’s also been named the cleanest village in Asia, and is called the God’s own garden. The village also has a hundred percent literacy rate. One of the most famous sites in the village is the Living Roots Bridge, which are a handmade marvel, designed by the Khasi and the Jaintia locals.

Ziro
Tucked away in the dense mountain woodlands, the town of Ziro is one of the most beautiful locations in Eastern India. The famous Ziro Music Festival takes place every year around mid-September, and is the biggest outdoor music festival in the country. This town is an amazing site for hiking.
