Last week, Marvel Studios released a special look of Avengers: Endgame and also announced that bookings for the movie are open. The sale broke records in a few hours, surpassing the last two Star War films:  Star Wars: The Force Awakens and 2017's Star Wars: The Last Jedi, according to Fandango and Atom - two of the top ticketing websites in the United States.

Not long after advance tickets went on sale, #AvengersEndgametickets was the No. 1 trending topic on Twitter.

Meanwhile, on eBay, a single ticket for a first-day IMAX screening in Hollywood was being offered for close to Rs. 6 lakh, starting bids for other tickets were around $35 (Rs. 2,417) each, according to reports.

Atom also said that the movie has set a record for its mobile ticketing service, selling three times more tickets in the first hour than last year’s Avengers: Infinity War.

Directors Joe and Anthony Russo took to Twitter pages to react to the news, sharing a screenshot of the story: “Unbelievable. You guys are awesome. #WhateverItTakes.”

Endgame is expected to have a huge opening at the US box office, with early tracking coming in at anywhere from $200 million-$250 million (Rs. 13,81,67,00,000) over the April 26-28 weekend. Infinity War opened to $257.6 million on the same weekend in April 2018.

Endgame is expected to bring the stories of many original Avengers to an end - whether that means they die or move on in some other way, which remains to be seen.

Endgame is set to release on April 26, this year.
