Upcoming Batman film features actor John Turturro as the villainous Carmine Falcone
When Matt Reeves confirmed that Andy Serkis will play Alfred Pennyworth, no one bat an eyelid. Serkis is Reeves’ long-time go-to as seen in films like the Planet of The Apes franchise. Fans were overjoyed the even yesteryear Pengiun Danny DeVito himself gave a thumbs up to Colin Farrell being roped in to play Penguin. But, Twitterverse blew up when Reeves revealed who will play the big bad guy.
The upcoming Batman film features actor John Turturro as the villainous Carmine Falcone. Falcone who is generally just referred to as The Roman is a long-standing enemy of The Caped Crusader. The reason fans are celebrating isn’t just because this Big Lebowski star is a great actor and will play the mafia kingpin’s role perfectly. It also confirms the possibility of the upcoming DC Film being an adaptation of The Long Halloween. Seeing how Zoë Kravitz will portray Selina Kyle/Catwoman and Paul Dano will appear as The Riddler, the narrative about how Batman investigates the serial killer targeting the Falcone family seems likely.
Everyone seems to have forgotten the initial outrage when Robert Pattinson was announced to play the titular role.
“The only time I want to play someone an audience knows they’re supposed to like is when they really shouldn’t like them," Pattinson told the media. "That’s the only time. He’s a very, very, very troubled person. There’s very few of a character that’s regarded by everyone as a heroic character that they know that they need to save the day and they know they’re good,” says the actor who will also be seen on Christopher Nolan’s Tenet.
The London-based star states that he has always found it interesting that Batman is struggling constantly. “He’s always struggling a little bit, in some iterations of the stories anyway. He doesn’t know if he’s that great or not. And that’s kind of interesting. Walking the line all the time," he concludes.
The film is slated for release in June 2021.
