Netflix unveils first look of brand-new fantasy series starring Henry Cavill as The Witcher
Netflix’s long-awaited fantasy series, The Witcher, is headed to San Diego Comic Con on July 19 in the legendary Hall H. The main leads for the show recently shared their first looks from the soon-to-be-released show.
Henry Cavill will star as the monster hunter, Geralt of Rivia in the eight-episode series. With Freya Allan as the mysterious princess Ciri and Anya Chalotra as Yennefer, among others.
Moderated by accomplished actress and host and beloved sci-fi fan Yvette Nicole Brown (Community, Mom), the comic con panel will include cast members Cavill, Chalotra, and Allan alongside showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich.
Based on the best-selling fantasy novel series by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski, the show is said to be centred on destiny and family.The official summary of the show reads: “Geralt of Rivia, a solitary monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts. But when destiny hurtles him toward a powerful sorceress, and a young princess with a dangerous secret, the three must learn to navigate the increasingly volatile Continent together.”
