In any season, air conditioners are considered to be a good investment. Who wouldn’t love an afternoon nap inside a nice and comfortably cool room!

While there are different types of ACs available in the market and many features of an AC, but the increase in the number of inverter ACs in many houses cannot be left unnoticed.

Before knowing about the advantages of an inverter AC, it is vital to know what an inverter AC is and how it works.

Knowing this would clear all the predominant misconceptions and would give you a fair idea about inverter AC.

What is an Inverter AC, and how does it work?

First things first, an inverter AC doesn’t mean that it runs on inverter even during power cuts. An inverter AC mainly uses inverter technology; it converts AC to DC, which regulated the compressor running speed. Also, inverter AC comes in split air conditioners, which are compact and easy to use.

A non-inverter AC goes 'on' and 'off' & Runs on single speed only but an inverter AC can vary its speed based on the Load & ambient condition.

In a non-inverter AC, the compressor turns on when the AC is switched on, and it starts running at its single speed to cool the room and then after the desired room temperature is attained the compressor motor turns off.

On the other hand, in an inverter AC, the compressor starts when the AC is switched on the compressor starts and runs at high speed to attain the desired room temperature, and then slows down the speed of compressor motor, so that the constant temperature is maintained.

It obviously consumes more electricity than inverter AC whose compressor motor remains on lower speed at lower loads consuming lower power & at higher speed at higher load consuming nominal power. Thus it saves electricity. In an inverter AC, its speed is adjusted depending upon the room temperature, indoor Load & ambient temperature.

Advantages of an Inverter AC

The biggest advantage of inverter AC is that it saves energy. This means you can save on your electricity bills while enjoying the coolness throughout the day.

It has high power and high efficiency and is thus recently being preferred by most of the consumers.

With the help of its inverter technology, it can regulate its compressor operating frequency according to the room temperature without switching 'on' and 'off' again and again, unlike non-inverter AC.

It gives a high powered start when the AC is switched 'on' a and this cools the room much faster than any traditional air conditioner. Since it has precise control over the room temperature, it creates a cool and comfortable environment.

Inverter AC reduces the noise level comparatively by putting an end to the on/off compressor motor operation. They also maintain the constant room temperature, thus, preventing the continuous on/off of the compressor which fluctuates the indoor room temperature.

It is a fantastic home AC highly promotes sound sleep by reducing noise and maintaining constant room temperature. It can be installed in both small and big rooms, thereby effectively cooling the respective rooms.

It is cost-effective and quite economical, given its smart compressor operations. Although, inverter ACs are slightly expensive than conventional ones, still the high price is compensated adequately in reduced electricity bills.

Inverter ACs use better quality refrigerants, which are environmentally friendly to some extent. It is quite safe for household wiring since it consumes less energy.

They are quite compact (split air conditioners) and there is no compromise in the design of the inverter ACs.

Inverter ACs are a boon to tell consumers who are worried about their never-decreasing electricity bills since they consume very less energy in comparison to non-inverter ACs.

It has a plethora of advantages, but a few disadvantages too. One of the preventable downsides is that if the room isn’t properly insulated, then the inverter AC will consume much more energy.

But, the advantages it has cannot be ignored. Inverter ACs are great for households during summer, plus they make the environment quite comfortable and happy gifting a sound sleep.

Many companies manufacture inverter ACs, but the best ones are by Hitachi.
