Try fusion dishes like Dosa Quesadilla and Parle G Cheesecake at the newly-opened Spice It in Bellandur

The South-Eastern suburb of Bengaluru, Bellandur, has quite a few breweries and chic restaurants. However, it was missing a place that serves fusion food. Now, Ibis Bengaluru Outer Ring Road has filled this gap by opening their all-day dining restaurant and bar, Spice It.
 

Street style
The menu put together by the executive chef, Avijit Deb Sharma, offers a wide variety of home-style and street food with a global twist. We started our lunch by sampling one of the ‘Bar Bites’, the Bullet Chilli Chicken. While the chilli chicken was perfectly spicy, the twist was the generous addition of peanuts that helped balance the spice levels. From the breads, we sampled the Chur Chur Paratha with Dal Makhani and Raita. The flat bread was layered and fluffy and went well with the buttery makhani and the boondi raita.
 

The Rice Bar section includes some interesting offerings and we sampled the Nasi Goreng Goan Flavours. This version made with the Goan recheado paste was quite appealing. The other section thatcaught our attention was Bun-Shun-Wrap-Rolls. We loved both dishes that we sampled from this section — the Phulka Soft Tacos with Peri Peri Chicken and the Dosa Quesadilla Chicken. The quesadilla was stuffed with minced chicken that was cooked in South Indian spices, the accompanying bell pepper, date and curry leaf dips elevated the taste to the next level.
 

Cheesy affair
After the satisfying meal, we were looking forward to the Sweet Endings section that has an assortment of desserts like Rasmalai Panna Cotta, Molten Chocolate Cake With Vanilla Ice Cream and Parle G Cheesecake. We tried the Parle G dessert. This twist on the classic cheesecake features a layer of cheesecake sandwiched between the biscuits and topped with Gems. Spice It sincerely attempts to bring to Bellandur residents a new kind of fusion menu and seems like it is here for a long innings.
