Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan opened up about men being a part of the changing process of gender parity in the film industry, in a recent interview with a leading media organisation. “I think men need to stop being threatened by this change. They should be more accepting about it,” said the Sui Dhaaga actor.

He further added that nobody should be discriminated based on gender. “I think it is only going to be beneficial if there is equality, because, first and foremost, more talent will shine through... Let people come through (on the basis of) talent. Talent should be the one that speaks the loudest and we have immense talent in our industry,” added the actor, who stood up for his October co-star Banita Sandhu during the promotion of the movie.

Sui Dhaaga is based on an unemployed small-town man defies all odds and naysayers and starts his own garment business. It also stars Anushka Sharma.
