According to reports, Nawazuddin Siddiqui released the teaser of his next project Thackeray — an upcoming biopic on the life of Bal Thackeray. Reports suggest that the National Award-winning actor said that ‘it is an honour for him to portray the late Shiv Sena founder-president.’

The two-minute teaser begins with a child crying in the backward areas of Mumbai. Further, into the video,  a group of people rush past it and torch the place. Towards the end, scenes of Bal Thackeray conducting his meetings are shown. 

The video ends with the introduction of Nawazuddin taking up the stage as Bal Thackeray to address a rally.

The 43-year-old actor told the media, "It's an honour and pride to portray the real king of the country on screen. Here comes the teaser of Thackeray. Hearty thanks to Shri Uddhav Thackeray, Sanjay Raut, Amitabh Bachchan and Abhijit Panse."

Directed by Abhijit Panse, written by Sanjay Raut, Thackeray is set to release on January 23, 2019.
