“Creating a Shared Future in a Fractured World” being the theme, The World Economic Forum’s 48th Annual Meeting in Davos will begin this month.

The 24th Annual Crystal Awards celebrate the achievements of outstanding artists who have shown exemplary commitment to improving the state of the world.

The award ceremony will honour actors and directors including Cate Blanchett and Shah Rukh Khan, and musician Sir Elton John for their activities that uphold human dignity.

Cate Blanchett is being awarded for her leadership in raising awareness of the refugee crisis, Sir Elton John, for his leadership in the fight against HIV/AIDS and Shah Rukh Khan, for his leadership in championing children’s and women’s rights in India.

The event will take place on January 22 along with the launch of the Annual Meeting.
