Iconic reggae singer Bob Marley’s granddaughter Donisha Prendergast said she wants action to be taken against California cops for racially profiling her after they received a 911 call from a neighbour near an Airbnb. Donisha was with her friends leaving from a Rialto rental in California after a vacation when cops came and detained them. They were informed that a 911 call from a neighbour said they were robbing the neighbourhood.

Donisha, who is an activist is also the daughter of Bob Marley’s eldest daughter said the situation could have gone much worse. She has spoken about it and said that the neighbours were wrong for racially profiling them and it was also the fault of the police to respond with the protocol they used for the situation. She went on to say that just because they are alive it does not mean that everything is alright. She went on to say that individuals need to be held accountable and she and her friends want a review so that the police don’t perpetuate an individual’s racism with their policies.

The owner of the Airbnb said that the neighbour had called the police because she didn’t know the house had been rented. She also went on to say that Prendergast and her friends were latching on to the whole racism thing because they are black. The woman who reported them to the police had apparently said that Donisha and her friends didn’t wave back at her when she waved at them while they were loading their suitcases in the car and so she reported them.

However, the 911 caller has now recently reported that she has been receiving death threats on social media after her identity was released and she is scared for her life.
