According to reports, actor Shahid Kapoor will soon turn a producer with Dingko Singh biopic. Based on the life of Asian Games gold medal-winning boxer Dingko Singh, the film is reportedly in its scripting stage and the team will commence shooting later this year. It was initially scheduled to begin its shoot last month.

The Padmaavat actor recently shared a picture on social media wearing a possible boxing suit with the caption: “Coming soon.” The film is said to be directed by Raja Krishna Menon and Shahid will play the lead and co-produce it.

Reports also suggest that Shahid spent time with Dingko to understand his journey. The 1998 gold medallist was diagnosed with bile duct cancer. After a protracted battle against cancer, he is now employed boxing coach in Imphal.

Shahid is currently busy with the Hindi remake of Arjun Reddy, Kabir Singh, also starring Kiara Advani. It is being directed by Sandeep Vanga, who also directed the original version.
