John Cena kept his brother, Steve Cena's sexuality a secret for more than a decade and his act has been earning him a lot of praise from the fans. A video clip from a 2014 interview of the WWE wrestler with Larry King has resurfaced where John shared the memories of the moment he learnt that Steve was gay.
In the recently resurfaced video of John Cena on a fan account, the 48-year-old former wrestler explained the choices he had when his gay brother, Steve Cena came out to him when both of them were younger, almost 30 years ago.
John can be heard sharing, "I had two choices; I could either disown him as a human being for what he does, or he can still be my brother. He came out to me, uh, before I turned 20 years old, and he asked me to keep it a secret."
The 14-time WWE World Champion did not let his older brother down and maintained the secret for more than 10 years until Steve was prepared to come out to his family and tell them the truth about his sexual identity.
Talking about the time Steve came out to his family, John said back in 2014, "When he did, he was met with a little adversity by the family. It’s an old Italian family. You know, they’re stubborn old b*******. But, you know, I was there to support him every step of the way."
Given the immense support John Cena provided to his vulnerable brother, fans were impressed. Twelve years after the interview, John's words have given them more reasons to be proud of him. Besides Steve, John has three more brothers, Dan, Matthew and Sean.
