In an immediate turn of events, NBC late on Friday announced that they would be reviving cult comedy show Brooklyn Nine-Nine. The news of the revival comes after Fox decided to scrap the show along with two others to make way for a new crop of shows on the network.

Fans of Brooklyn 99 went crazy and took to social media to express their frustration regarding the discontinuation of the show. However, the series has been revived with a 13-episode sixth season. In an interview, chairman of NBC Entertainment, Robert Greenblatt said that he regretted giving it to Fox and it is time it came to its rightful home.

The show was cancelled along with two other comedies by Fox called "The Mick" and "The Last Man on Earth". Interestingly, it was the second show to get revived after Fox announced that it would be reviving “Last Man Standing” one year after it was cancelled by the ABC network.
