Kolkata Centre for Creativity in partnership with Alliance française du Bengale presents VAST – A dance performance by a young contemporary Indian dancer Gopal Dalami.
Vast is “How the body carries in him the memory of the Vastitude. How the body beyond oppression, exile, confinement keeps nostalgia for vastness.” This is the story of a young Nepali man who was forced to leave his Himalayan mountains. He is now alone, like a stranger choking in his small room in the big slum of the Indian city. Beyond the confinement, misery, he tries day after day, in his routine, to find in his body a door that opens on the Vastitude, a path to his Himalayas. An encounter with a strange character will help him on his journey.
Philippe Pelen Baldini is the Art director, Director and Choreographer of this production and Thierry Moucazambo is the Assistant director and one of the performer for this production.
