The stage was set for Rio Olympics silver medalist PV Sindhu and 2012 Olympics Brozne medalist Saina Nehwal at the India Open Super Series 2017. Both Hyderabad-based shuttlers were facing each other for the first time at an international competition.
The 21-year-old, Sindhu, defeated Saina, 27, 21-16 and 22-20 at the Siri Fort Sports Complex.
“She (Saina) is not special that I have to win against her. She is like another player whom I have to play.It’s not that I have to win against her whenever I play. But I try to give my best against each player and gave my best against her too,” PV Sindhu addressed the media at a press conference post-match
