Detox special: A salad recipe by nutritionist Subiya Baiganpalli to get you Diwali ready

With gorging on good food continuing for a while this festive season, it's equally important to detox and take care of your body at regular intervals. Before the gastronomic onslaught begins this Diwali, here's a great detox salad recipe by OZiva's senior nutritionist Subiya Baiganpalli.

Toss it up in a couple of minutes and be healthy.

Vegan detox salad

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup diced apple
  • ½ cup diced pear
  • 100 gm. chickpeas (boiled)
  • 1/4th cup chopped coriander
  • 1 tbsp crushed peanuts/ walnuts
  • ½ cup pomegranate
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise OR plain yogurt
  • Seasoning as preferred
  • 1 tbsp vinegar

Method: First combine apples, pears, coriander, nuts, pomegranate in a serving bowl. Separately, combine the rest of the ingredients, toss with the apple mixture and season with salt, pepper, oregano (optional). Serve chilled.
