We started our week with some heavy shopping at The Bridal Story, an uber-luxurious wedding exhibition by the JITO Ladies Wing Chennai. Inaugurated by Kajal Aggarwal, the two-day long event saw displays by some of the biggest names in bridal fashion. Guests were also treated to an intimate jewellery showcase, getting to an up-close and personal experience with some serious bling. The other stop on our shopping trail this week was at The Armoire Pop up’s ‘Celebration Edit,’ for some pre-festive indulging. As always, the carefully curated showcase, had us drooling at all of the pieces on display, with great deals too.
While shopping made up one big chunk, it was quite the mixed bag of events this week. Comedy fans had reason to celebrate with the launch of So-Co, a comedy club at Hotel Savera. So-Co stands for South of Comedy and promises to have something for everyone, covering different formats and languages. Meanwhile, across town, Twilight by The Park was in full swing with a great line-up of performers across Aqua, Pasha and The Leather Bar. It was a really diverse crowd, reflecting the artistes, from Mali on Day 1, with fans singing along to originals, to Deep Bhamta at Aqua on Day 2 with Bollywood remixes.
This week also saw lifestyle coach Luke Coutinho paying Chennai a visit. His session ‘Holistic Lifestyle’ at ITC Grand Chola, saw many takers, some long-time followers and others tempted by all the right buzz words. And ending the week with a bang was Vimmi Deepak’s birthday party, which had now acquired ‘legendary’ status in Chennai as is one of the most looked forward to ladies’ events of the year. Vimmi celebrated a milestone birthday this year, at Flying Elephant, surrounded by her girl squad. The birthday girl looked fab in a red gown, while the afternoon included lots of bubbly, everyone’s favourite music and a surprise visit by exotic dancers.
