Amazon's Lord Of The Ring Series—Game of Thrones actor to play the main villain

The much-awaited Lord Of The Rings rendition by Amazon will feature Game of Thrones actor Joseph Mawle, known for his role as Benjen Stark. Previously announced cast members for the show include Will Poulter and Markella Kavenagh. Though very little detail has been announced regarding the story, Mawle will be most likely to play the role of series' lead villain, Oren, opposite Poulter's young hero Beldor and female lead Tyra (Kavenagh). The fantasy novel originally by author J R R Tolkien will be recreated by writers  J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay and directed by J.A. Bayon. Lord Of The Rings is produced by Amazon Studios in cooperation with the Tolkien Estate and Trust, HarperCollins and New Line Cinema, a division of Warner Bros Entertainment. The movie talks about the world of Middle-earth, the films follow the hobbit Frodo Baggins as he and the Fellowship embark on a quest to destroy the One Ring, to ensure the destruction of its maker, the Dark Lord Sauron.

Pre-production for the series is said to have started and the first set of production will begin soon at Auckland, New Zealand. According to sources close to the streaming platform, the budget of the project could hit $1 billion, considering the production costs, visual effects and the cast and creative teams. Amazon bought the global rights to the property by paying around $250 million.
