From a white Christmas to a life-size gingerbread house - the city has an exciting range of options to deck your stories with, this year. One can easily dismiss the recent poll that stated that Chennai is not the greatest when it comes to selfie options, once you check out the all natural Christmas tree, the brightly winking one or the yummy house made of bakery treats. Here are the top favourite Christmas-themed spots in the city:

Walk-in Gingerbread house

This year The Park Chennai has put together a 150 sq ft., 3 walled ginger bread walk-in house that is so real that you feel you are in a cosy living room. However the exciting part is that it is made up of goodies like marzipan, stollen, Plum puddings, gingerbread cookies, mincemeat pies and Dundee cakes. (The Walk in Gingerbread house will be  in the lobby till 26th December). Also checout their all-natural Christmas tree built with several 'real' Christmas trees built from scratch. Almost 12 ft tall it is dressed with baubles and pretty fairy lights. @The Park Chennai

Go eco-friendly

Celebrations at the ITC Hotels is centred on 'Responsible Luxury’ and the principle of 'Eco-Friendliness'. The oft photographed regal Grand Staircase at ITC Grand Chola is a hot-spot for selfies this time of the year - thanks to the  unique 14 ft. Christmas tree made entirely from waste plywood and packing wood. Artistically fashioned into a Christmas tree, as it spirals upwards - it is topped with a vibrant star, laden with lights and festooned with decorations and gifts. This tree makes for a perfect backdrop for your stories, if your message is more than just bringing in merriment, joy and festive cheer.  @ITC Grand Chola

Gifts for all

This year the EA Mall has opted for simple clean, contemporary style of decoration instead of the over-the-top Christmas village they had designed last time. A giant tree fashioned from a stack of colourful and translucent gift boxes, this installation has most of the shoppers stopping for a selfie at the atrium. What's more, stores are offering great bargains this week, and you could finish Santa's shopping list within a budget this time! @ Express Avenue Mall

Red, green and gold

This tree is all decked up with decorations, and the green and red signature colours. With a quaint picket around it, this one makes for a much-sought-after traditional Christmas look! @The Park Hyatt

White is beautiful

Going all white this time, here is your winter look right in the middle of Nungambakkam. And if you are lucky, you can also meet their Santa Claus who looks like he does have a sack load of goodies.@The Taj Coromandel

Treats galore

To amp up the festive season of Christmas, Crowne Plaza Chennai Adyar Park has put up more than just the Christmas tree.  They have installed their first Gingerbread house this year. Hurry up and check this one out as we were told that treats and goodies will be sold at the Gingerbread house only till Christmas. @Crowne Plaza Chennai Adyar Park

Get lit

Besides a grand tree lighting ceremony, the charm of this installation at The Residency Towers is that it looks like it has stepped out of a fairy tale - along the Frozen lines. Brightly light up and glittery this one has ethereal aesthetics.@The Residency Towers
