One of the things we always look forward to at the end of each year, besides all the festivities and parties, are the ‘year in review’ lists/videos/statistics that take a look at the biggest pop culture and news events, memes, songs and movies of the past 12 months. If you’re a fan of YouTube Rewind, you know what we’re talking about! One of the first lists that is out this year is by Google India, who revealed Google Play’s Best of 2019.

When it comes to movies, the most downloaded in the country were Marvel Studios' Avengers: Endgame, which was followed by Ayushman Khurana’s Andhadhun. The top selling e-book was The Magic of Thinking Big, while The Sky is the Limit was the highest selling in the audiobook category.

Google India also announced the winners of the Users’ Choice Awards for 2019 based on votes received in categories such as apps, book, movies and games. Gamers voted Call of Duty: Mobile the best game of the year, while Spotify was India’s most loved app. The country’s favourite e-book was Everything Is F*cked: A Book About Hope.
