AMONGST all the bikes on display at this year’s Auto Expo, it was the TVS Zeppelin that stole the thunder. This innovative cruiser is a concept that has been conceived as a bike for the long distance rider, and we sure think it looks the part. It is sleek, edgy, and has that retro appeal which will get heads to turn.

Ride ready
Finished in a striking metallic brown matte black combo, the vehicle has that quintessential cruiser look with its lowered handlebars and feet forward pegs. The bike gets ochre front forks, ABS, and a monoshock rear suspension, while power comes from a 220 cc engine along with an e-boost option that is powered by a 1200 W regenerative motor with a 48V lithium-ion battery enhances the performance of the bike. The 4-stroke, oil cooled, 220 cc unit is capable of delivering 20 PS of peak power and 18.5 Nm of torque. The Zeppelin also gets a silent belt drive instead of a chain which is in sync with what larger cruisers tend to use. The bike is touted to offer an unmatched level of riding dynamics as well without compromising on fuel efficiency.

Add to that, the TVS Zeppelin concept also boasts of having a state-of-the-art LED lighting system, a smart Bio-key, electronic speedometer, online connectivity, and the headlight cluster also comes with an integrated HD camera that can be paired with your phone and allows you to capture your ride on the go! The brand has not made a formal announcement of whether the Zeppelin will go into production, however, if it does, it can sure give the Bajaj Avenger a run for its money. It is a bike that holds a lot of potential in the Indian market and for the sake of all the bikers out there, we sure hope that TVS does bring this concept to reality.
