The revamped Mercedes-Benz GLA is now available in India
The German machine has received a minor makeover for 2017 in order to cater to a younger customer. The GLA gets LED performance headlamps with fibre optics, LED taillights, a new front bumper and grille and new 18 inch alloys to freshen up its visual appeal.Changes to the cabin include a number of functional and design elements such as the sail pattern trim on the Sport variant and the black matrix look on the Style version. The Mercedes-Benz GLA also gets an 11.4cm multi-function display screen, smartphone integration and to suit your mood, there are 12 different ambient lighting colours and five dimming levels to choose from.
Beyond the facelift
The new Mercedes-Benz GLA has been launched with two engine options, namely a 2.1-litre turbo diesel and a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol. The diesel unit comes in two states of tune; the first being the 134 hp version that does duty in the GLA 200d variant. It offers 300Nm of torque and comes with a 7-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox. The GLA 220d comes with the same engine; however, it is tuned to offer 168 hp and 350 Nm of torque. It is the top of the line variant and also benefits by having an all-wheel drive system on board. The petrol engine churns out a healthy 180 hp and 250 Nm of torque. Safety features on board the new GLA include seven airbags and driver assistance systems (ESP, ASR, etc) which help keep it stable in varied driving conditions. Offered in a total of four variants, the GLA has been priced at `30.65 lakh to `36.75 lakh
