Supermodel-turned-actor Milind Soman celebrated his 52nd birthday a few days back and he put up a photo with his 18-year-old girlfriend Ankita Konwar(as speculated). While the Made in India hunk thought of it as just any other Instagram post, Internet trolls swooped in and trolled him for dating someone half his age.

Some picked on the age difference, while others got unnecessarily creative and picked on Ankita's looks and where she was from.

Holidaying in Norway, Milind Soman decided to be completely nonchalant and posted a series of pictures with Ankita thanking his fans.

Many on social media came out in support of the actor.

A 2003 AARP survey of about 3,500 single men and women ages 40 to 69 found about 66 percent of men want to date younger women and 34 percent of women want to date younger men. Celebrities like actor and director Mel Gibson's partner is 35 years his junior, and director Sam Taylor-Johnson, whose husband, actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson, is 24 years younger than her.  Dating a younger person opens an entire demographic that you may have been missing out on, says experts. That’s especially true if you’re a woman, as trends suggest the dating pool begins to shrink with aging. Unlike dating an older partner, younger partners may be less inclined to be jaded, and more likely to be open minded and energetic. In the process, you may also get a better parent thanks to their maturity and better life experience.
