Malayalam actor Vijayan Peringode passes away at the age of 66

Peringode began his career as a production executive and made his acting debut in 1983 with PN Menon's film Asthram.

Malayalam actor Vijayan Peringode passed away in the early hours of Wednesday, May 23. The actor was 66 years and reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest. He is survived by his wife Chanjalakshi and three children, Kannan, Anadapadmanabhan and Gayathri.

Peringode began his career as a production executive and made his acting debut in 1983 with PN Menon's film Asthram. He has acted in over 40 films in Mollywood and has also done a few supporting roles in the Tamil film industry. The actor has also acted in many hit films like Mohanlal's Devasuram, Oppam, Mammootty's Pattalam, Dileep's Meesa Madhavan and more. The actor's last film was 1971: Beyond Borders in 2017. 

Vijayan's family stated that the actor did not suffer any major health issues and he was brought to a hospital in Palakkad following a chest pain. He was then declared brought dead by the hospital. The last rites of the actor will take place in Peringode, Palakkad on Wednesday at 4 pm.
