Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao take a stand on the #MeToo movement

As producers both Aamir and Kiran want to ensure the industry has a safe working enviroment for women

Even as more names are tumbling out of the closet in the #MeToo movement, another name that’s  added to this list is that of film director Subhash Kapoor. As per reports, Kapoor, whose next film Mogul is co-produced by Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao, has allegedly outraged actress Geetika Tyagi’s modesty.

As a reaction to these reports, both the producers, Aamir and Kiran announced through a Tweet on the former’s official Twitter account that they are stepping away from the project.

Though both haven’t taken Subhash’s name in the post, their message is quite clear. "This...case is subjudice...legal process is in motion," they said. The couple added that both of them are committed to making the film industry a safe place to work in.

Earlier only two big names from the industry, actors Hrithik Roshan and Kangana Ranaut had expressed their opinion on the #MeToo movement, and now the power couple, Aamir and Kiran have taken a stand on the ongoing revelations.
