Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone recently appeared on Koffee With Karan and while she did reveal a lot on the show, in a recent interview she spoke about how she got her first movie. The Padmaavat actress who has done several films over the last 11 years said Om Shanti Om happened because of a combination of being at the right place at the right time and also hard work and talent.
Deepika said when Farah Khan was looking for a new face for Om Shanti Om, she had only done a few ad films. Farah decided that she was the perfect person for the role and took her profile to Shah Rukh Khan, and he was willing to take the risk. Deepika said the film changed her life and even got her the big ticket to Bollywood and launched her as a promising talent. However, she said Anil Anand and Atul Kasbekar were also among the few who were instrumental because it was the latter who convinced her parents to let her shift to Mumbai.
Deepika is currently on a break from films as she is reportedly getting ready for her wedding ceremony with Ranveer Singh on November 14-15. The couple is said to be having two separate ceremonies which include a south Indian and Sindhi ceremony.
