Jonita Gandhi is remembered as the voice of The Breakup Song from Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (2016). With Kalank's release, Jonita will hopefully lose the 'breakup' tag. The singer has lent her voice to Rajwadi Odhani a solo number in the Kalank that features Alia Bhatt.

The peppy folk number from this much-awaited film, showcases Jonita's versatility as a singer. The beats, the melody and the singer's rhythmic rendition of the song, makes it a memorable one. Talking about working on Rajwadi Odhani, Jonita says, "It was a lot of fun to record this song. It took me back to my childhood days when I would dance to such numbers. It's a high energy song." Musicians from Rajasthan were specially flown down to the Mumbai studio to play and record the song that's penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya and composed by Pritam. Jonita who has worked with both the lyricist and the music composer says, "The lyrics were in Hindi so it was easy for me to sing and I have worked earlier with Pritam Sir so I know what he was looking for."

While this film song is getting her the required attention, Jonita also recorded a T-Series MixTape Season2 duet with Salim Merchant that released just a few days ago online. A mash-up of their earlier songs - Galliyan and Dil Mein Ho Tum. "It's been an amazing experience working with the team. Last season I sang with Armaan Malik, this season I recorded with Salim who has also been my mentor," enthuses the singer. Jonita's strength is the way she effortlessly adapts to different languages although she was raised in Canada and has a strong accent. The singer who grew up listening to both Western and Indian music says she tries to emulate different styles. "It is challenging to do, but the experience is rewarding, " says the singer who has sung in Kannada, Telugu and Tamil, and just released a cover of Harris Jeyraj's Vaseegara in the first week of April.
