From wedding date to Nick Jonas' name: Here is all that was embroidered on Priyanka Chopra's wedding gown
Actress Priyanka Chopra tied the knot with American singer Nick Jonas in a grand wedding ceremony in Jodhpur's Umaid Bhawan Palace, and it has been the talk of the town ever since. A month later, Ralph Lauren has shared unseen pictures of Priyanka and Nick’s wedding and has also spoken about the process of making exquisite clothes for the celebrity couple.
In the video shared by the designer, you can see many phrases that have been embroidered on Priyanka’s dress for the Christian wedding, which had a 75-feet long veil. Words like compassion, Om Namaha Shivay and 1st December were hand-embroidered on the gown by 15 artisans in Mumbai.

Fifteen artisans in Mumbai, India, hand-embroidered the coat with a variety of complex techniques, from fine cording to tulle appliqués and pastiche threadwork inspired by Chantilly lace, for a total of 1,826 hours. Worked into the scrolling floral motifs were 32,000 pearlescent sequins, 5,600 seed beads, and 11,632 Swarovski crystals. The coat was closed down the front with 135 satin-covered buttons and finished with scalloping at the high-cut neck and long sleeves. The strapless column dress worn beneath was embellished with more than two million pearlescent sequins to bring a sense of shimmering dimension to the overall look. . On his social media account, he revealed that one of the fittings for Priyanka's wedding dress was held in Paris, where she saw the full look come together for the first time, complete with a veil. He said, "135 satin-covered buttons, 700 spools of ivory thread, 5,600 pearlized seed beads, 11,632 Swarovski crystals, 2,412,000 high-luster sequins, Totaling 1,826 hours of handwork by 15 skilled artisans. All with the impeccable attention to detail and authenticity that have defined five decades of Ralph Lauren design."

Interestingly, the 36-year-old actress’ dress became a reality after 1,826 hours of handwork. Apart from this, 32,000 pearlescent sequins, 5,600 seed beads, and 11,632 Swarovski crystals were also woven on the gown.
The couple got married after a Roka ceremony in August. For the Hindu wedding, they wore custom-made Sabyasachi Mukherjee outfits with shoes and heels by Christian Louboutin.
Following their grand wedding, they hosted three receptions in Delhi and Mumbai. The newlyweds are presently enjoying a winter vacation in Switzerland with their family.
