Disney girl and Taki Taki singer Selena Gomez is quite a popular figure on social media, and Snapchat is at the receiving end of it, after she criticised them for changing her eye-colour in the filter made representing her. Selena even went a step ahead to say that she will stick to Instagram because she prefers her natural eye colour over the blue given by Snapchat.
Selena criticising Snapchat questioned beauty standards and asked them if the blue eyes were supposed to make her look better because she is perfectly comfortable with her brown eyes right now. While criticising the non-attractive filters, Selena alleged that Snapchat prefers light-coloured eyes over darker ones. For those who don’t know, Selena’s filter on Snapchat shows her with oversized glasses covering blue eyes, which she pointed out is quite a problem for her.
Interestingly, Selena saying she will stick to Instagram comes at a time when she is the second most followed celebrity on Instagram after Ariana Grande, who recently overtook her. While Selena Gomez has 146 million followers on the social media application, Ariana Grande has 147 million, and is increasing by the day. The drop in the number of followers occurred after Selena went off Instagram last year after she was revealed she was suffering from depression, and was admitted to the hospital.
