Former WWE star, Ashley Massaro, passed away at 39, the organisation announced on Thursday. The cause of her death hasn’t been revealed. According to reports, officials classified it as ‘non-criminal’.
“We are saddened to learn of the tragic death of former WWE Superstar Ashley Massaro, WWE offers its condolences to Ashley’s family and friends:” WWE said in a statement. They added, “She performed in WWE from 2005-2008 and was beloved by her fellow Superstars and fans around the world.”
Ashley was reportedly rushed to a local hospital from her house in Suffolk County, New York, where she was declared dead early Thursday.
Ashley was a “Survivor” contestant, a magazine cover model, and recently a Long Island disc jockey. She famously won the WWE’s 2005 Raw Diva Search, which included a $250,000 one-year contract. She is survived by her daughter, Alexa.
