Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar, the man behind films like Chandni Bar (2001) and Fashion (2008), welcomed the Supreme Court verdict on Babri Masjid-Ram Janmbhoomi title dispute case and called it 'fair'.

"Welcome the fair verdict over the #AyodhyaCase by Hon. Supreme Court. Finally the long pending issue will be resolved now," he tweeted.

After seven decades of a protracted legal battle, the Supreme Court on Saturday pronounced the judgment in Ayodhya case. The court ordered the Central Government to formulate a scheme for setting up of a trust and hand them over the disputed site for the construction of the temple. It also said that a suitable alternative plot of land measuring five acres at Ayodhya will be given to Sunni Wakf Board. Soon after the verdict, reactions came out. While some celebrated the verdict, most requested people to accept it while urging them to maintain peace.
