All you want to know about actor Deepti Sadhwani's debut gown at Cannes, by designer Aanchal Dey

Actress and former beauty queen Deepti Sadhwani made a stunning debut at the opening ceremony of 77th Cannes Film Festival in a beautiful trail gown in orange created by couturier Aanchal Dey. Apparently it's the longest trail, as claimed by Deepti on her social media account. She looked every bit glam in the bright orange ruffled gown.

The dress was conceptualised by Deepti herself along with the designer Anchal Dey. She wanted to have a dress which represented her individuality and depicted her free spirit, and so did the long free flowing trail. The cape itself took around 45 days to make with 300 mt fabric and with a 400 cm long trail. The gown inside is hand embroidered representing Indian handwork by artisans. She chose the colour orange since it signifies happiness, optimism and enthusiasm which goes well with her personality.

The highly anticipated 77th edition of the Cannes Film Festival kicked off yesterday, with an extravagant opening ceremony that set the tone for the prestigious 12-day event. Deepti Sadhwani is walking the red carpet for 3 days at the festival including the open ceremony.

This year, the opening night was a star-studded affair, with the world premiere of Quentin Dupieux's film The Second Act, featuring an impressive cast. Adding to the evening's allure, Oscar winner Meryl Streep was honoured with the prestigious Palme d'Or for her outstanding contributions to cinema.
