My week started with the curtain raiser of Jhalak Lifestyle Exhibition on Friday at Marigold Hotel. The one-day event gave us a sneak-peek into the Jaipur-based exhibition label and their showcase for the upcoming exhibition. More than 50 top designers including specialists, experts and doyens from across India will showcase their work.

After looking at their range of stylish ensembles on offer, we’re sure the city’s fashionistas are going to have a treat in the second edition of their do today, at Taj Krishna. With the onset of the month of Ramzan, Hyderabadis are all in the mood for haleem, biryani and grand iftar parties. Last Saturday saw a similar iftar party hosted by Jabir Patel, founder and president of IAFF.
From popular politicians to foreign delegates, everyone was in full attendance. Farooq Abdullah, former chief minister of Jammu & Kashmir, actor Shatrughan Sinha and politician Baba Siddiqui along with Home Minister and deputy CM Mehmood Ali were spotted greeting each other and savouring traditional Ramzan delicacies. More than 3,000 guests were seen enjoying a lavish spread that included Dum Ka Chicken and Hyderabadi Zafrani Biryani.
Later that evening saw two concerts in Jubilee Hills. First up was the electrifying performance by DJ Siana Catherine at the recently-opened TOT Club. Known for her visual effects and trap tracks, Siana certainly got the crowd grooving. The bar served summer cocktails and starters like kebabs and Manchurian.
On the other end, regulars at Tabula Rasa – Cafe and Bar were in for a musical treat as the night featured a live performance by French music composer Christelle Gualdi. Known by her stage name, Stellar OM Source, the trained musician played some of her synth-heavy techno music for the packed audience who danced to the groovy tunes.
