Festive fun was over the top recently between the crackers and Christmas cake mixing sessions in the city

While there may have been complaints about this Diwali not having as many parties as last year, I enjoyed the slightly more chill scene, hanging with close friends. Plus, I’m sure if it were busy, we’d have found a way to complain about that too. “Oh so many parties babe, nothing to wear.”

One of the chill scenes in question was a Diwali party at Karun Raman’s house, with pretty twinkling lights, a little bit of ‘goss’ and lots of yummy home-cooked food, courtesy Karun’s mom Shanti. A fair share of our time was allotted to taking pictures, with photographer Venket Ram sweetly indulging our requests. We couldn’t let our outfits go to waste now could we!

Meanwhile, across town the festive mood continued at Amir Mahal, an evening hosted by Nawabzada Mohammed Asif Ali, to felicitate Neeraj Madhav for his performance in the Amazon series The Family Man. “At Amir Mahal we have always promoted art and culture by way of organising events as well as felicitating artistes. It was a pleasure to have the actor amongst us and hear him speak about his journey in life,” said a delighted Asif.

Hot on Diwali’s heels are Halloween and Christmas, with the former causing a costume hunt frenzy for what seems to be a city-wide celebration. We’ll be sure to share loads of pictures next week. The latter is seeing loads of cake mixing events with this week’s fruit, nut and spirits extravaganza taking place at The Residency Towers. Actor Yashika Anand was amongst the group that was kitted out in gloves and aprons as they set to work. And the metaphorical icing on the cake? We were informed that it is ‘99 per cent trans fat-free'. The foodie trail continued at Palladium, for the launch of the food court, with Dipika Pallikal doing the honours. Once the formalities were done, guests piled up their plates, aiming to try as many stations as they could.
