The Parking Lot buzzed with energy of a different kind on Monday when city bartenders took charge of the waterhole at the third edition of Monkey Shoulder Ultimate Bartender Championship.

Over 50 bartenders - amateurs and professionals, from the city flexed their muscles on the bar counter at the Park Street hot spot, to showcase their skills in making potent concoctions. A couple of warm-up rounds that included mixing, pouring, nosing made way for an electrifying session where five finalists took charge of the bar and locked horns in the Perfect Serve round. With three minutes to spare, each participant displayed their mixing skills with panache. “Kolkata showed some great talents like always and we hope to see them do well in the finals as well. The championship focuses on uplifting and developing bartending skills. This global initiative is exclusively for the next generation of bartenders and will see participants showcase “skills that pay bills” across the country,” says India Brand Ambassador for Monkey Shoulder, Pankaj Balachandran who asserted that the best quality that a bartender should have is hospitality.
