The two-day exhibition at Ice Skating Rink curated by Sanchita Ghosh and Maitreyee Pathak was a paradise of hand crafted products. The exhibition in its 12th year saw participation from across India. “From Kolkata to Kanya Kumari and Gujarat to Manipur, we have artisans and designers displaying their handicrafts,” said Ghosh.

Beads and glass

The exhibition also had some national award winning weavers that included, Agaz Women Bead Work from Uttar Pradesh and Parbat Kanji, from Kutch. The former weaver’s stall was a paradise of beads with bangles, rings, and gorgeous statement neckpieces luring every women with its vibrant colours and interesting patterns. Afghanistan was the only international participant in the exhibition and their display of earrings and chokers impressed us. Glass jewellery, wooden printing blocks, ceramic art and more added vibrancy to the exhibition. A host of designers from the city also impressed with their display of silhouttes in ikkat, khadi cotton, linen and more.
