India Heritage Walks organises a tour which celebrates The Folk Art of Bengal
The guided tour explores the folk and tribal artwork section of Gurusaday Dutt's personal collection
If history, literature and culture interests you, then take the guided tour of Gurusaday Museum, next Sunday, as walk leader Soumyadeep Roy, takes you through the personal collection of Gurusaday Dutt, the civil servant, folklorist and activist. Organised by India Heritage Walks, the walk gives you a chance to look at the folk and tribal artworks and other artefacts, which includes 16th-century Bengali manuscripts, original Kalighat Pats, tribal masks and a vast collection of kantha styles. Visitors might also find some rare archaeological finds which date back to 2nd millennium BC.
