CaratLane has been a crucial force in easing millennials into the concept of wearable jewellery, especially in the daily wear spectrum. The brand which started in 2008 was found with the objective to make beautiful jewellery accessible and affordable. When it comes to minimal and easy bling, CaratLane has re-defined many parameters for millennial fashion and has made a way for younger working professionals to sport fine jewellery more readily.

Take their newest Ombre collection, for instance, the range tries to capture the essences of scenic and floral visuals in seven distinct and vivid shades of natural sapphires.

It’s also important to note that coloured gemstones are a hit in the global style memo, and every runway-worthy luxury or fine jewellery designer is incorporating interesting coloured gems into their line-up. Needless to say, Ombre has been curated to appeal to fashionistas who want to keep up with the international trends. While diamonds have always been the quintessential favourites for the Indian market, adding a pop of colour in the mix is a welcome change. Especially since coloured sapphires not only add an illusion of complexity and finesse but also help you make a statement more easily.

“Natural sapphires provide a variety of hues. Our stones have been sourced from Jaipur and Thailand. We wanted to achieve the perfect gradation for our collection and hence we chose to focus on natural sapphires. Sapphires are also very glamorous and take the beauty of any jewellery a notch higher,” we are told. We found some stunningly light jewellery featuring blue and pink sapphires, in rose gold bases, the latter being a huge hit with 20-somethings as pastel jewellery makes for incredibly Instagrammable bling.

One of the most notable pieces from the Ombre collection is the Dual Sway necklace, featuring an adjustable detailing and two asymmetrical dangler-style pendants designed with rubies and sapphires, which can be easily teamed up with a pantsuit or a simple tee and denim.

Another one of our favourite numbers from Ombre is the Tulip Duo Stud Earrings, a stylish pair of tulip-shaped studs featuring sapphires and tsavorite, which is a type of green garnet, the earring has been styled in a way so that it hangs out from the lobe in a chic manner.
