This Friday designer Gaurav Gupta will present his star-studded showcase at Blenders Pride Fashion Tour (BPFT) in Hyderabad against the backdrop of the stunning Taj Falaknuma Palace. “We’re all set to push boundaries with our sculpted womenswear and progressive menswear,” says the designer. B’town divas, Kangana Ranaut and Aditi Rao Hydari will be the showstoppers for the evening. Those in the attendance would get a glimpse of his latest couture collection for the first time in Hyderabad with an immersive theatrical experience by artists collective, CROW.

“My collection Crystal Myth is futuristic and has been inspired by the alignment of stars in a galaxy. We have employed experimental, textured elements and structures, drawing from the shape of a prism, and this construction is weaved in a way to make the woman wearing it seem inches taller and more powerful,” says the Mumbai-based designer.

Gaurav has not only dressed the leading Bollwyood actresses for red-carpet dos but is also a favourite with actors like Ayushmann Khurrana, Vicky Kaushal and Jim Sarbh. Since winter weddings are around the corner, we asked him what the men can do to push the envelope. Men here need to be slightly more adventurous when it comes to dressing up, he feels! “A distinct personality is something that I believe is deeply lacking in the wardrobes of a lot of men. It’s time that they experiment, and by that I don’t mean wearing formal pink shirts. Instead, they should wear some sporty stuff, and open up themselves to newer styles and in turn, find their new self.”
