Chique at Next Galleria Mall

We dropped by at the Next Galleria Mall to check out the contemporary women’s wear brand, Chique, which opened last week. The four-year-old Delhi-based brand is owned by Siddhant Gupta
who told us, “Expect to find our latest Autumn/Winter collection in our brand new store, our first in South India”.  The label is known to promote size inclusive ensembles (all their outfits are available from XS to double XL), and occasion wear with an emphasis on anti-fit silhouettes. We were ushered in by the Hyderabad franchise owner of the store Srivani Madhavaram, who said, “Whenever I went to Delhi I made it a point to shop at Chique, hence I wanted to take charge when I got to know that they were ready to open in my city.”

The store might be small, spanning over 750 sq ft, but it packs in a punch. The  bright arc lights shine on the festive ensembles which boast of a colourful palette. The first two shelves showcase their latest comprising georgette kaftans with handcrafted embellishments. They can be paired with the versatile tulip pants available in the store. The pride of place is occupied by the signature pleated cocktail gowns of the label:  They boast of light beaded work.

Some signature styles

For those who prefer florals, the store offers unique floral print dresses. This brand has obtained a patent for these prints such that they can’t be replicated.  Apart from the dressy evening wear sections, the store also boasts of crepe shirts with beautiful handcrafted flamingos etched out on it. The store also has a limited albeit well-stocked casual wear section, replete with dresses and shirts in colours like aquamarine, peach and yellow. We were quick to note that the store is running opening discounts as well, which city-based fashionistas might definitely want to check out!

Rs 2,000 onwards.
