Shaina NC’s S/S collection is an ode to the Indian drape
Shaina NC known for her love of the Indian drape was part of the Caring with Style Fashion fundraiser hosted by Cancer Patients Aid Association. The designer, who holds the Guinness Book of World Records for fastest sari draped, launched her latest S/S collection, that features an eclectic mix of the ethnic wear in various silhouettes for both men and women.
Spotlighting handmade yarn, the designer who has showcased her forte with Jharkhand’s tussar through her previous launches (AIFW A/W ’17), put on display a range of saris in textured silk. “I came up with the collection as a tribute to the sari which is perfect for the summer. It is an ensemble that works for both a day and night look.” Look out for intricately embroidered tussar silk saris with golden embellishments, brocade and zari work. In sync with the spirit of the collection, the colours that she has chosen to work with are off-white, beige, black, grey and red. Also, patrons can look out for her six-yard ghagra saris that feature pearl and zari embroideries.
Apart from her collection of saris, the designer also showcased a limited menswear line featuring dhoti pants, double-breasted jackets and bandhgalas. Rs 20,000 upwards.
