From noon to night: Fashion and lifestyle exhibition Midnight Prink to begin at JW Marriott Kolkata next week
Preeti and Shivika Vidyasaria are back with the sixth edition of Midnight Prink at JW Marriott Kolkata this March. Midnight Prink is a unique fashion and lifestyle exhibition, which allows people to shop from noon till night, with a delectable variety of food on offer and music, which adds to the ambience.
“It was in March 2017, when we came up with the idea of reinventing the fashion and lifestyle exhibition and introducing a new concept to the city of Kolkata,” says Preeti Vidyasaria, the organiser. “We wanted to create a very niche market for the people, with hand-picked fashion labels from different parts of the country (both hi-end and start up designers), along with customised décor and jewellery, all under one roof,” she adds.
Whether you are looking for unconventional bridal trousseau, ethnic wear or just some smart but colourful casuals to jazz up your wardrobe- the Midnight Prink will have something to surprise you with, as more than 70 designer labels, will be coming together for the event.
Expect to see brands like House of Jama and Ira India from Surat, beauty products by Manish Malhotra called My Glamm, bridal trousseau by Atara by Varisha, silver jewellery by Bhavya Ramesh, and Bikaneri jhumkas and Chandbaalis with lotus meenakari by Aishwarya Diamond Jewellery, among others.
“We will have summer wedding collections for the bridesmaid and trousseau wear for the bride in pastel and earthy shades and contemporary, with thread work and zari,” says Varisha Kaur, from the Kolkata-based brand Atara. You can also check out Mehak Murpana's indo-western wear from Mumbai, or the ethereal designs by Vamaone by Minal Parakh from Pune. A bag and luggage brand from Raipur, called Iron Tailor will also be there, in case the men feel left out. Funky batuas and jutis by Chitty Chui and unique casual footwear by Jutte Shoes from Delhi, will be an added advantage for those who shop for a look.
And if you are not an extravagant shopper and would prefer to buy some small thoughtful gifts for your loved ones, Ebsbee by Suryanshi has quirky and interesting accessories like brooches, watches and junk jewelleries to choose from. Think Elysian by Nupur Gupta will also have interesting artwork on offer, which can uplift the walls of your living room area.
In the past, the exhibition has received a footfall of around 12,000 people and it is gearing up for yet another ‘Shop-eat-chill-play’ session in the coming week. You can choose from a scrumptious feast, comprising starters like Crispy Chilli Babycorn, Corn Cheese Balls, Mushroom Broccoli Tarts, or Pastas made in white, red and pink sauce. There will be chaats and Paav Bhajis too, along with French Fries, Pitta bread and hummus, for those who want to hang around with their pals on a weekend and have a good time.
“We will be having counters where you can make your own Pasta and people can choose from a variety of 15 exotic vegetables for their Mongolian dishes,” says Arjun Bakliwal from KB’s Foodworks. In addition, the Marriott bar will be contributing cocktails, margaritas, wine and mock tails to the sip and bite menu.
Midnight Prink will open at JW Marriott Kolkata, banquet hall on March 16, 11:50 am
