Farms around Bengaluru where you can sign up for some mango picking

What’s better than getting a whole bag of mangoes from the store around the corner? Picking them yourself off the trees they grew on. Farms around the city are now letting you be part of the process of harvesting. So pluck your mangoes and eat them too. Here’s how:

Chiguru Farm
Located in Ramanagara district, this farm is a two-hour drive from Bangalore and grows Badami mangoes. The tour starts off with a walk around the farm during which you will learn about farming activities. After the walk, expect an authentic Karnataka lunch. This will be followed by a session of guided mango picking. Pick as much as you like and pay for your haul before you head back home.

Patapalli Orchard
This farm, located in Srinivaspur, Kolar district which is approximately 100 kilometres from Bangalore, hosts tours every second Saturday in May, June and July. Apart from picking the fruits, of varieties including Alphonso, Mallika, Neelam and Sindhura, you will also learn about planting saplings, maintenance, mulching and more.

Savi - Garuda Farms
