The citys' one of the most popular Awadhi cuisine joints, Oudh 1590, has opened its fourth outlet at Jessore Road to give North Kolkata a taste of some the finest Awadhi dishes. Buoyed by great response in Deshapriya Park, Lake Road and Salt Lake outlets, the owners, Shiladitya Chaudhury and Debaditya Chaudhury thought of exploring the market in North Kolkata.
"This is the fourth outlet of Oudh 1590 which will offer the best of Awadhi cuisine including Galawati Kebabs, Nalli Nehari and Keema Kaleji, for the patrons in north east Kolkata," says Shiladitya.
You can also try their other speciality dishes such as Awadhi Handi Biryani, Rann Biryani, Metiabruz Biryani, Chicken Qalmi Kabab, Awadhi Sugandhi Mahi, Shahi Dahi Kabab, Murgh Musallam, Chicken Irani, Lasuni Palak, Awadhi Daal, Paneer Rezala, Shahi Tukra and Firni.
Spread over an area of 2000 sq ft, this 80-seater diner, which includes a private dining area, looks like a slice of Awadh with its interiors replete with objects that will you back to the glorious past of the nawabs. Here, too, the kitchen will be manned by chefs brought from Lucknow, to retain the authentic flavour of the dishes. With strains of Begum Akhtar’s timeless classics wafting through the air, you are surely to be transported to a bygone era.
Both the partners, Shiladitya and Debaditya, have travelled extensively to Lucknow to research and learn more about the language, culture and most importantly the food habit of the Awadhi period. This new outlet is a result of their untiring effort in making it a landmark destination restaurant at Jessore Road.
“Opening an outlet of Oudh 1590 on Jessore Road was in our mind since long as there have been requests galore from the patrons residing in and around the eastern part of the city to open an outlet here. We have been overwhelmed by the ever increasing demand for the Awadhi cuisine that we serve at Oudh 1590 and at this new outlet, too, we will continue providing a wide array of delectable Awadhi delicacies," says Debaditya of Oudh 1590.
