Ashley Furniture offers a mix of contemporary, regal and vintage home essentials
Having launched two stores in Bengaluru within a span of six months, American brand, Ashley Furniture is already working on opening a third outlet in the city. Amruth Sampige, the managing partner of Dash Square, which has brought the brand to India, shares that the third outlet will be their flagship store. Apart from offering a fine range of beds, dining tables, chaise lounges, recliners and bar stools, one of their most striking features is the VR experience through which you can virtually design a room in your house and get a feel of what it might be like. Amruth tells us more.
What makes Ashley Furniture stand out?
Ashley furniture stands out because of the importance they give to design and quality. The importance to detail is shown in the way they design their furniture and also the way every product is presented.
Tell us a little bit about the history of the brand.
Ashley Furniture was founded in 1945. The first homestore was started in 1997 in Anchorage, Alaska. Today Ashley has over 700 home stores across the globe.
What were a few points you had to keep in mind while curating the collection for the Indian customer?
Indian customers today are exposed to a lot more. We pretty much offer everything and let the customer choose. We try and avoid overly bulky products. We also keep our colours as neutral as possible. Having said that, the Indian customer has a choice to order anything from our online catalogue even if it's not curated for the store.
