After years of hard work, it is always rewarding to see your boss appreciating you for it and while the gestures may vary, it is the thought that counts. A Tamil Nadu collector on Wednesday gave his chauffeur a fitting farewell on his last day and the internet is impressed with the gesture.

T Anbazhagan, collector of Tamil Nadu’s Karur city decided to drive his chauffeur back home on his last day. After 33 years of service, the 58-year-old driver Paramasivam retired after driving around over eight collectors in the city. While the driver initially protested, it was only after the collector insisted that he sat in the back of the car along with his family and let himself be driven back to his house.

Paramasivam was driven for over 5 kilometres to his house where they all met and spoke about his many years of service making it a memorable day for him. He went on to add that it is a challenging job and if the collector works for 16 hours, the chauffeur has to work for 18 hours a day, but was happy to have served his state.
