Indian skipper, Virat Kohli, who is making the headlines since the beginning of the Australian tour, looks to be in troubled waters. The 28-year-old right-handed batsman is set to miss the whole of Indian Premier League and Champions Trophy following a surgery on his shoulder.

The recently concluded series between India and Australia was always in the news not just the end results, but for the controversies. Right from the brain fade incident in Bengaluru till the post-match comments about the Australian cricket team in Dharamsala.

Amidst all of this, the Indian skipper was honoured with the Padma Shri by President Pranab Mukherjee at a civil investiture ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

The Delhi-based cricketer was involved in many arguments with the Australian captain, Steve Smith and other players on field during the fourth and the final test played in Dharamsala. Though India, won the series 2-1, Kohli seems to have lost a few battles due to his sharp comments after the match.

Reports suggest that, the Indian skipper had mentioned that he was not friends with the Australian cricket team anymore. His statements read, "The thing I said before the first Test, I have certainly been proven wrong and you won't hear me say that ever again." This statement was later on justified by the Indian captain, who took on his Twitter to clear the air.

However, there have been a few comments from the pundits of the sport that Kohli had gone overboard. Former Australian player, Ed Cowan, who was all praises about Kohli's game also said that there was a moment where he felt like stabbing the 28-year-old player.

Former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly also reacted about the whole Kohli saga. Dada,  as he is known, said, "Against Australia, probably he (Kohli) was so consumed by wanting to win as captain that he let his emotions affect his batting. This will also serve as a lesson for Virat. He's such a precocious talent, I hope he cools down and gets back to scoring big again," Ganguly wrote in an exclusive column for the 'ICC' website.

Former Australian wicket keeper Brad Haddin also suggested Kohli to take a break from cricket.

Looks like the Indian skipper has a perfect break that has come to him in the form of a recovery period. We wish him a speedy recovery.
